Check whether a device is under management
For buyers of used devices. Enter the serial number or IMEI to see whether the device is enrolled in ABMDM.
Check on the device itself
No software needed. It takes about a minute.
1. Go to Settings › General › VPN & Device Management
If you see a "Device Management" entry with an organization's name, the device is managed.
2. Watch the setup screens
If the device shows a "Remote Management" screen during setup, it belongs to an organization.
3. Ask for the sales paperwork
A device on an installment plan that has not been paid off still belongs to the seller.
